What is worth knowing?

Each piece of wood is inherently unique in terms of color and texture. Irregularities are a result of many factors that simply cannot be controlled. Differences in products made of one type of wood are unavoidable. Maybe it is better? We think so. This feature ensures that each product we create, by definition, is simply one of a kind.

Furniture and objects made of natural wood require special treatment, so questions arise. We try to answer the most frequent ones here.

General questions

What materials do you use and why?

We fulfill our orders using natural wood, which is based on steel frames. Natural wood is a unique material, and that’s how we treat it. Each wood species has its own characteristics that change the way you work with it, and also affect its use. Despite many difficulties caused by natural wood, we believe that the character and style it gives an interior is worthwhile.

What kind of furniture do you make?

Furniture made of steel and wood, in a modernist Scandinavian style, which fits perfectly in both modern and more classic interior. Each of our products is made to order according to an individual project. Therefore, we have freedom of shape and form, according to which we will build each project.

What does the order process look like?

An order starts with an idea, inspiration, need. It is enough to contact us with an outline of the product you need so that we can begin to create the project. After determining all the details, an order form is sent to the Customer, which includes all the details of the product being created. This document also includes the completion date, the 3D design and its visualization, as well as the amount of the advance payment that must be paid so that we can start the production process. The remaining amount must be paid either by bank transfer before receiving the order or delivery.

What does the production process look like?

Each of our projects is made by hand in our workshops – carpentry and locksmith. The production of each order is divided into four clearly defined stages.

The first step is to create a project that includes all order details, and which is typically created based on the Customer’s guidelines and spatial conditions. Very often it is based on inspiration coming from the Internet or catalogues from around the world. Such design is still undergoing a technical correction based on calculations, for example of the base strength.

After agreeing on the technical details, we simultaneously begin to work on two stages – welding the base and creating the worktop. There are no fixed standard procedures set for these stages, because each project is different, so every time the process is distinct and unique.

The final stage is refining the product – securing steel and wood, assembling mechanisms and other necessary accessories. The hand-made product is ready to be delivered to the Customer – by mail order, our own transport or personal collection.

Can I adjust the size of the product to my needs?

Of course, our products can be tailored to individual needs. Each of our products is made as a result of manual work, and before implementation, we create designs in accordance with the Customer’s requirements. This gives us confidence that our product will perfectly match the Client’s needs and his plan.

Do you issue invoices?

Yes, we do issue invoices. Without VAT for individual Customers and with VAT for companies.

Can I see your products live?

Yes, you can see both our sample projects as well as current orders during finishing at our headquarters, where we meet with our Customers. We invite you to a meeting – in Szczecin, Granitowa 64 Street.

Do you ship orders?

Yes, we do ship both larger and smaller orders. However, we cannot provide fixed delivery costs due to the individual nature of each order. If necessary, we also use our own transport, so we can also safely deliver more complex projects.

Questions about resin, engraving and milling

How do you secure the wood?

We use specialized agents to protect the wood – oils and varnishes. Both of these methods allow you to achieve different effects and protect the wood in a different way.

Wood oil is the most natural method of protection, creating a durable layer of oils and waxes that is strongly absorbed into the surface of the wood, effectively protecting it against external factors. Moreover, oils (or oily waxes) best emphasize the natural appearance of the tree and allow it to be easily refreshed after scratching. The oil is used both on floors and countertops, inside and outside, or surfaces highly exposed to intensive use. The oil may be colorless or slightly tinting the tree pattern.

Transparent varnish and stain varnish form a hard, impenetrable layer on the surface of the wood, which effectively protects the wood against external factors. The visual effect of varnishing is very strong, especially in the case of high gloss varnishes. Hard varnish also allows for a significant strengthening of wood considered to be soft (for example pine, cedar, linden), thanks to which it can be used in furniture. Varnish stain allows you to color the wood, while the colorless varnish is divided according to the degree of gloss, starting with high gloss, silk, satin, mats and deep mats.

Varnishing, being a permanent form of protection, completely loses its protective properties as a result of mechanical damage. Contrary to oils, varnish does not allow local topping up of the protective layer, forcing it to be completely removed before applying a new layer.

How long does the order realization take?

The duration of each order’s realization depends on many factors, so it is determined individually. Few of the variables are: the size of the order and its complexity, the total number of orders, and the momentary availability of the material. In order to determine the completion date, we must make a detailed draft of the order.

How to care for the wood?

Wood is a completely natural material, so it requires a bit of care, but it repays the amazing atmosphere and adds charm to the interior. Depending on the species, wood reacts in a specific way to various conditions, such as humidity, temperature and sunlight. Depending on the place where it will be located, different types of wood and methods of protection will be better. Soft species (for example pine, cedar, but also havea and sycamore) should be protected with varnish to increase their mechanical resistance, but they are lighter in nature. Hard species will work better in places with intensive use, and in places with high humidity, the most suitable choice will be species with a high content of natural oils – teak, merbau, iroko, but also those that tolerate changes in the environment – beech, oak, cedar.

Oiled wood requires periodic oil treatment, depending on the intensity of use – every six months or once a year. The oil does not form an impermeable layer on the surface of the wood, so it is susceptible to discoloration due to for example flooding with a strong dye such as red wine. Such a stain should therefore be removed as soon as possible, but with the use of mild detergents, as those too strong may also leave discoloration. Regardless of the method of protecting the wood (oiling or varnishing), wood does not like hot dishes – you should use pads to avoid white spots.

Where is my furniture suitable?

Virtually – everywhere. Wooden furniture can be used both inside and outside, at home, in the office and in other premises. The versatility of natural materials and a wide range of species allow the product to be adapted to specific conditions. Our products will also prove themselves as a unique complement to the Company’s interior, or as a gift thanks to the possibility of significant personalization and customization, and placing inscriptions, logos, graphics in wood and combining them with epoxy resin.

What kind of wood should I choose?

There are many types of wood, so you will definitely find the right one. Wood is classified according to its hardness and workability. Customers also very often pay attention to the drawing and wood graining. Therefore, depending on the requirements and preferences, we will advise you to choose the right type of wood.

Which steel colors do you use?

In short? Every kind. We offer powder coating of steel in the full RAL palette, thanks to which our projects can be adapted to specific requirements and preferences. In addition, we use structural painting, as well as our painting can be matt or glossy.

Questions about resin, engraving and milling

What is resin and what effect does it create?

Epoxy resin is a two-component material which, once cured, is very resistant, both chemically and mechanically. Its liquid form before it dries allows it to be poured, and special dyes – to achieve amazing and extraordinary results. Unfortunately, resin is not a simple material to work with, it requires thorough preparation and knowledge. Nevertheless, the effect is worth the effort – shapes, colors, effects, everything that epoxy resin provides is unique and amazing.

How to care for the resin?

The resin is very durable. It is both hard and has high elasticity, so it can be used universally, and making damage to it is very difficult. Nevertheless, unprotected, colorless resin discolours under the influence of UV radiation, so it should be ensured that products made of it are not directly exposed to strong sunlight. Sufficient protection against discoloration is also protecting the resin with varnish. In addition, epoxy resin is resistant to chemicals and detergents, so it does not require special care.

What inscription/ logo/ graphics are you able to put on the countertop?

Virtually every kind. Depending on the needs, we can choose the appropriate technique – milling, engraving, plotting, creating a 3D or 2D inscription, or printing. It is enough for the Client to present his idea / need / text so that we can include it in wood in a creative way.

How do you create inscriptions and graphics in and on the resin?

We use our knowledge from various creative fields, mainly related to advertising. We convert the desired materials into vector graphics, which we transfer to and into wood using a wide range machine park. The approach and technique used depends on the specific project, so there is no straightforward answer to this question. It all depends on the need.

Putting any graphic design in resin requires dividing the pouring into stages, between which additional elements can be placed deep in the countertops.

What is a 2D logo and graphics and what is a 3D logo and graphics?

Logos, inscriptions and 2D graphics are made of plotted foil, mechanically cut in the desired two-dimensional or printed shape. We mainly use acrylic glass to make 3D objects. Both techniques, placed between different layers of resin, give the effect of a spatial ornament, which can take many forms – inscriptions, graphics, logos or sentences. This allows you to create one-of-a-kind and extraordinary products.

What is the difference between milling and engraving?

Milling is performed by mechanically picking up material with a drill-like tool. It allows for a deep cut into the wood, but detailed graphics are practically impossible to obtain. The engraving is made by laser, carving the wood much more shallow, but with great detail. Both the cutter and the engraver allow you to place graphics and inscriptions that can be left uncovered or poured with resin. In the case of resin flooding, however, milling works better due to its depth. There is nothing to prevent these methods from being combined and intertwined with each other.
